International Rosé Day was celebrated in the US with the release of the 2020 vintages of Romance, Inspiration, and UP Rosé along with the estates reopening in France. These rosé wines are from the Côtes de Provence, Château de Berne, and Ultimate Provence. The bottle design also takes inspiration from these estates while being made by  Alexis Cornu, winemaker and enologist since 2016. A remote winding road leads to the Château de Berne, which is nestled in the rolling hills of Provence, in the South of France, one hour from Saint-Tropez between the villages of Lorgues and Flayosc.

The five-star Relais & Château de Berne estate includes a hotel and private villa accommodations, as well as a Michelin-starred restaurant “Le Jardin de Berne“. This restaurant also received the new Michelin Green Star distinction for its eco-conscious approach to fine dining. It also has a spa, cooking school, and various leisure activities planned for guests.

While more famous for its rosé wines, Provence is less known for the variety of terroirs that it offers. The Côtes-de-Provence appellation alone spans six vast territories while the Château de Berne is located in the Haut-Pays (Highland) area. This is the area where the reds, whites, and rosés are yielded from.

Chateau de Berne Romance Rosé retails for $14.99, Chateau de Berne Inspiration Rosé for $19.99 and Ultimate Provence Rosé is priced at $21.99. The Romance bottle features a bubble motif that appears when the wine is poured! Inspiration is an exclusive square bottle that is a tribute to Roman architecture and a nod to the estate’s long history of winemaking dating back to Roman times.

Ultimate Provence on the other hand is a boutique hotel in the hills behind Saint-Tropez. To match with the wines from this estate, there is also a gourmet cuisine created by Chef Romain Franceschi. International Rosé Day was first started in 2018.
