Inspired by the New York City Skyline, the new limited-edition speaker from Bang & Olufsen is meant to represent the “dynamic fusion of precision craftsmanship and minimalist design, capturing the ascendant energy of New York City.” Beosound 1 New York Edition from luxury electronics company Bang & Olufsen combines minimalist design with the brand’s renowned precision craftsmanship.
Paying tribute to the bustling and loud metropolis of the Big Apple, the wireless speaker is designed for 360-degree sound experiences. Crafted with a special aluminum-gradient finish to resemble the metallic nature of New York City’s skyscrapers, the tower-like shaped speaker creates a space-age aesthetic.
Through its patent-pending process of the piano black-to-natural aluminum gradient finish, Bang & Olufsen shows off its unrivaled design capabilities in the audio space. Due to this labor-intensive process that sees the aluminum get milled, polished, anodized and then mechanically processed, only 1,200 pieces of the Beosound 1 New York Edition were made.
Along with Bang & Olufsen’s surface specialists taking fine care of this speaker, its features are just as impressive.
Sound: patent-pending Acoustic Lens Technology creates a spherical sound that fills every corner with rich sounds.
Portability: The portable speaker has a built-in battery with a single charge delivering up to 12 hours of wireless playtime.
Voice Control: With the Google Assistant built-in, simply say “Hey Google” and select from a playlist, news, weather and more.
Operation: Beosound 1 is able to connect to all wireless technologies as well as connecting to Bang & Olufsen’s multiroom speakers.
Bang & Olufsen Beosound 1 New York Edition is currently available for $2,000 USD at Bang & Olufsen stores and online. A docking station that allows the speaker to be moved around more easily is also available for $175 USD.
